Lewcott was founded in 1965 by Gene Lewis and Harold Cotton.  They started by manufacturing prepreg for abrasive grinding wheel reinforcement and ballistic armor projects.  In 1972, Lewcott was acquired by BBF, Inc providing the company the opportunity for growth.  Lewcott acquired Eli Sandman in 1975 expanding its prepreg capability and adding more abrasive reinforcements.  Continuing its growth pattern, Lewcott added phenolic resin reactors and entered the filtration market.

The year 2002 brought a significant change to Lewcott.  Under new management Lewcott broadened its thrust in the composites market to include an ablative and carbon/carbon product lines. With the ISO 9001/ AS9100 certification in 2004 and its composite technology, ventured into new markets including photocatalytic oxidation in the air filtration market and structural and thermal management in the printed circuit board market.

Lewcott has expanded its capability and capacity to meet the demands of our customers. The facility can annually produce over 9M pounds of Resins, over 6M linear yards of Filtration products and over 10M linear yards of Thermoset prepregs. The facility is located in Millbury, MA with significant property to expand.
