Lewcott has developed many high performance prepregs for the transportation sector. Our phenolic prepregs are now used in many aircraft interior constructions. The phenolic interiors grade resins are manufactured in Lewcott’s on site reactors and allow custom tailoring of the properties of the individual resin system on a molecular level. The areas of applications include rail, ship and aircraft interiors.

PSR133

PSR133 is a high performance phenolic resin available in neat resin and prepreg form. Prepregs manufactured with PSR 133 meet the stringent requirements of MIL-R-9299C, Grade B. PSR133 is the most cost effective phenolic available and offers excellent char yield for carbon/carbon applications and does not exhibit micro-cracking in high modulus composite structures.

LC193

LC193 is a native, general purpose phenolic system that is designed for use in interior applications where high peel strength is not a requirement but low cost, flammability performance is.

LC194 

LC194 is an advanced native phenolic system that is designed to provide a combination of outstanding adhesion to aramid honeycomb while meeting the flammability requirements for use in aircraft interiors.  LC194 is the most cost effective self-adhesive phenolic system available today.

LC194M

LC194M is an advanced phenolic prepreg system that is self-adhesive to aramid/phenolic honeycomb core.  LC194M is self-extinguishing, and handily meets flammability requirements for use in aircraft interiors.

LC195

LC195 is a specifically developed phenolic prepreg system that is adhesive to aramid/phenolic honeycomb core.  LC195 uses a unique phenolic resin, developed and manufactured by Lewcott that allows 10 minute cure cycles in a hot press.  LC195 does not blister or delaminate due to the unique phenolic resin chemistry.  LC195 is self-extinguishing, and meets flammability requirements for use in aircraft interiors.

LC196 - New! Product Launch

LC196 is an advanced snap curing phenolic prepreg system that is self-adhesive to aramid/phenolic and aluminum honeycomb core.  LC196 offers very good and consistent adhesion property values (climbing drum peel strength) over a wide range of cure/laminating conditions.  LC196 is self-extinguishing, and meets flammability requirements for use in aircraft interiors.

EP255

EP255 is a low temperature curing toughened epoxy that cures in the 235ºF to 275ºF range.  It is self-adhesive to aramid honeycomb and can be used for a wide variety of structural applications.  It is self-extinguishing, passing the 60 second vertical ignition test listed in FAR 25.853. 

EP255 Film Adhesive

Based on the EP255 epoxy prepreg resin system, this supported film adhesive is designed for use in a variety of bonding applications such as metal to metal, composite to core or metal to core.  Sandwich constructions include aramid, aluminum and various foams.
